Nicholas J. Bevilacqua is a foot and ankle surgeon at the Foot and Ankle Clinics at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. Dr. Bevilacqua earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), graduating with honors, from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He then went on to complete a three-year comprehensive foot and ankle surgical residency program at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers in New York, where he was the chief resident. There, he received extensive training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and the surgical management to prevent limb loss. He completed the CLEAR Fellowship in Diabetic Limb Preservation at Rosalind Franklin University in 2007.
Dr. Bevilacqua has authored articles in peer reviewed journals and has lectured at national and international meetings. He is a reviewer for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Ostomy/Wound Management, Diabetic Medicine, and Advances in Skin and Wound Care.
Dr. Bevilacqua is currently conducting research in collaboration with the CLEAR-Chicago site. His main interests include management of complex wounds and foot and ankle reconstruction.
CLEAR is an active clinical research unit of the
Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at
Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.
