Dr Toney is a fellow at Scholl’s Center for Lower Extremity Research (CLEAR). She completed her three year post-doctoral medical and surgical training at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa in 2007. Dr Toney received dual degrees from Des Moines University in 2004 with a Doctoral in Podiatric Medicine (DPM) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) and was awarded Graduate with Distinction and the Leadership Award. She was also elected into the Alpha Eta Honor Society.


Dr Toney was also awarded the Joseph Dorgan Memorial Trust Scholarship, Susan C. and Michael V. Reagan Scholarship, John and Mary Pappajohn Scholarship, and was the 2003 American Podiatric Medicine Writer Association Annual National Writing Competition Winner. During her graduate and post-graduate training, she authored many papers and publications as well as a number of presentations on topics ranging from lower extremity trauma, complications of diabetes, limb salvage to quality healthcare access.
